Frozen Naan a great weeknight solution

It takes less time to make an entree than making bread on weeknights. It is much quicker to have frozen garlic naan’s available for you on a weeknight. These frozen garlic naans’ can be made into a delicious meal if they are properly reheated. Your guests won’t even notice the difference.

Additional Tips:

  • Every minute that Naans sit around and are not eaten, they dry out.
  • The time it takes to microwave frozen Naan is between 30 and 90 seconds, depending on how big the microwave is and how many naan’s you have. This heats up the Naan’s moisture and pre-gelatinizes its starch, resulting in steamy softness.
  • Overheating the Naan from this point will cause the moisture content to evaporate, and the starch to become rubbery. To find the right timing, experiment with your microwave. You should be able gently to fold them once they are out.
  • The following microwave timings apply:
    • 1 Naan – 25 S
    • 2 Naans – 55 S
    • 3 Naans – 90 S
  • To get the perfect char, heat the microwave-heated naan in a hot skillet. The skillet should be heated to a high temperature before the Naan is placed in the pan. This can be done while you are microwaving. It takes only a few seconds to get the skillet seared and the Naan out of the microwave.
  • Flip the top side of the naan onto the hot skillet. You want to give the bubbly spots a nice char, but not crisp the top of the naan.
  • Next, cook the bottom side until crisp. While this takes slightly more time than the top side, it can be done in 20-30 seconds using a hot pan. You can also dress the top of the naan-naan with the following options.

Conclusion:

Garlic itself is the healthiest part of food and it adds to the deliciousness and flavour of the naan. We hope the recipe above will make enhance the flavour of your naans. Try this recipe at home and let us know the outcome.
